Lyn Deutsch established Pino Coco Import, Export Inc. Despite the generally weak export market, she is making waves in the fashion accessories export market penetrating the sophisticated specialty boutiques in the world’s fashion centers like New York and Paris.

Deutsch, an artist by profession, has entrepreneurial skills driven not only by the thriving export performance of her uniquely designed fashion accessories, but because she is providing employment to the families around her neighborhood.

Gil Zaire “Butch” C. Carungay received the Gold Prize in the Professional Category during the 2nd Asian Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Design Competition
in Hong Kong.

Serpentine Blanc bested entries by 60 professional designers from China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

The winning designs were chosen based on saleability, originality, beauty, wearability, creativity and workmanship of the finished pieces by a panel that included representatives from the respected Hong Kong Fashion Designer Association, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Institute of Clothing and Textiles, Elle Hong Kong / Elle Accessories, Asia’s Fashion Jewellery & Accessories

Cebuano fashion designer Alan Del Rosario with one of his clients, Glee’s Lea Michelle, during the Golden Globe Awards.

He is the first Filipino fashion designer to be a finalist in the first Oscar Designers Challenge contest.

He is also the recipient of the California’s Designer of the Year award and GenArtLA’s Fresh Face.

JUDGE Christine Muga-Abad


JUDGE Christine Muga-Abad of the 12th Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Moalboal-Badian-Alcantara, Cebu was awarded a scholarship by the National Association of Women Judges (NAWJ) to attend the 2011 NAWJ 33rd annual conference.

Abad was the only Asian awarded with the scholarship.

The International Scholarship Committee of NAWJ selected judges from all over the world who would benefit from the conference, who are committed to improving the lives of women and the roles of women judges in their courts and, who would share their knowledge gained with other women judges when they go back to their country.

His mother is from CEBU and his father has IRISH ancestry.
